Why stay in a Bed & Breakfast in Asheville?

Asheville Bed and Breakfast

Have you stayed in a bed and breakfast inn? The Asheville area is home to many – and they are a cut above most (since it’s very competitive here)! This is one of the biggest B&B destinations in the United States. Thus, the inns are some of the most professional operated and beautifully decorated!

Most are located near downtown Asheville or Biltmore Estate in grand, historic homes – all equipped with the latest modern amenities. They all have private baths, wonderful common areas like porches or living rooms, and are located in very convenient locations to plenty to see and do. They will give you “insider” advice on hiking, waterfalls, Biltmore House, Blue Ridge Parkway, restaurants and more.

Your nightly rate includes a gourmet breakfast for two and often includes afternoon snacks or a evening glass of wine. Plus, innkeepers help you plan your trip to the North Carolina mountains. You can also get advice on what to do from other guests at the inn. Since you are staying in someone’s home, the innkeepers welcome you as very special guests with lots of individual attention. They will often make special arrangements for celebrations like birthdays, anniversaries and engagements.

Asheville Bed & Breakfasts Help Fill Gas Tanks

In response to the recent rise in gasoline prices nine Bed and Breakfast Inns in Asheville along with eight local restaurants are offering a special package to travelers to Western North Carolina.  “Tank You! Helping You to Fill Your Gas Tank” is a co-operative effort designed to reward visitors with discounts on food and lodging on any two day mid-week visit to Asheville between May 23, 2011-August 31, 2011.

Total value of the package could be $25 or more, depending upon your restaurant choice and is offered as a meaningful way to help visitors to Asheville pay for their gas.

Participating Bed & Breakfast Inns will return $15 on a Sunday to Thursday booking (two night minimum) during this period.   In addition, restaurant partners will discount 15% on food purchases.

“We recognize that times are hard and gasoline prices are high.  This is our way of thanking guests who make the trip to Asheville and support local businesses.” says Stacy Shelley, owner of Pinecrest B&B and one of the originators of the program.

The Bed & Breakfast Inns taking part are some of the finest inns in Asheville, situated throughout the city and in surrounding areas.  These include Pinecrest Bed & Breakfast, Carolina Bed & Breakfast, and A Bed of Roses, A Victorian Bed & Breakfast and the 1899 Wright Inn & Carriage House in the historic Montford District; 1889 WhiteGate Inn & Cottage, and Beaufort House Inn in the Chestnut Street Neighborhood; 1847 Blake House Inn in South Asheville, The Reynolds Mansion Bed & Breakfast Inn in North Asheville; and Honey Hill Inn & Cabins in Candler.

Participating restaurants are among the most popular in Asheville, serving fresh local food.   These include  Avenue M and Vinnie’s Family Italian Restaurant in North Asheville; Fig Bistro and Rezaz Mediterranean Restaurant and Enoteca in Biltmore Village;  and Cucina24, Limones, Carmel’s, and Zambra Wine & Tapas  in downtown Asheville.

“People who visit Asheville are looking to stay at places with character and high standards, and want to dine at restaurants with great food, atmosphere, and excellent service” commented Jim Muth owner of Beaufort House, “This program offers them the best of  both and at the same time makes the effort of filling up the gas tank a bit easier.”
