The very popular Bele Chere street festival will be held in downtown Asheville on July 29-31, 2011. It’s one of the biggest street festivals in the country, drawing 200,000 people each year! There’s plenty of art, music, food and drink to enjoy. The festival fills several of the main streets in downtown, complete with three stages. Many local restaurants will offer food while local artists sell their work. And you also find the typical festival fare. In additional, nationally-touring bands will perform in addition to local bands. There’s a nice shuttle service do you don’t have to battle downtown traffic for parking. The festival is free. Beer can be purchased on Friday or Saturday. For safety reasons, pets are not allowed. For more on Bele Chere and to download the music schedule, go to http://www.romanticasheville.com/belechere.htm
